Constructing a koi pond

Built koi pond
Finished koi pond with natural stone copings

After a house move the last remaining job was to rehome the owners pride and joy koi that were house in a temporary tank until the pond was constructed.

The pond was excavated in heavy clay soil using a 6 tonne digger and 3 tonne dumper to deposit the spoil ready for a grab lorry removal.

The base was reinforced with A142 mesh with the bottom drain set perfectly level in the concrete foundation.

The subterranean walls were 7n blocks with the external exposed wall class 1 engineering at ground level then facing bricks.

A Greenseal EDPM box liner was manufactured and then installed with through liner pipework and an overflow fitted all topped off with a natural stone coping.

A Nexus filter set up was installed and commissioned.

Needless to say our customer was very happy with the end result
